Certified free of pesticides, additives, and not genetically modified. This creamy white kernels are found within the tough shelled cones of pine forests. These have been enjoyed as a staple in the diets of southwestern native Indian tribes of America for thousands of years. Hot water brew of flattened pine kernels have been traditionally by the natives to clear head colds and coughs quickly.
Pine kernels are rich in vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin B1, protein and linolenic acid (currently investigated for their positive effect on high cholesterol, hypertension and blood clots). Pine cone extracts have also been found to have anti-tumour and anti-viral effects.
Enjoy as a snack, bake in pastries, cakes, confectioneries, or sprinkled in vegetables, fish and meat dishes, salad or pound into butter.
